Ingredients

1st mix
  • 1 c apple sauce i used cinnamon but use what you have
  • 3/4 c maple syrup/agave or a mix of both
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 c milk (whatever kind) i used oat
  • 1/2 c melted butter
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
2nd mix
  • 1/2 c quick oats
  • 2 1/4 c flour
  • 1 apple diced small
Icing
  • 2 oz cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3/4 c powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tsp chai powder

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 365 F and melt 1 stick of butter in a pot on the stove.
  2. In a bowl mix together all of the ingredients in the “1st mix” column.
  3. Then add the oats, flour, apple, mix until combined.
  4. Add to a greased and lined bread pan, and smooth out the top. You can add sliced apples on top if desired.
  5. Bake until a knife or toothpick comes clean. Around 45min-1 hour. Each oven is a little different.
  6. While it’s baking, prepare your frosting by beating your butter and cream cheese together. Once mixed add in the powdered sugar and chai powder. Mix again for a minute or two until light and fluffy.
  7. Once your bread is done, you can add the frosting to the top right away, it will get all melty but that’s okay cause it will be more of a glaze. If you want it to be thicker, wait until the bread is completely cooled.
