Seasonal Home Decor: Valentine’s Day Inspiration

Valentines day is my all time favorite holiday to decorate for. I love all of the pinks and reds, the colors make me so happy! Fun fact: I actually used to HATE pink, and I found such a love for it about 1-2 years ago.

A lot of my decorations come from target, tjmaxx, and thrift stores!! I keep all the holidays in mind when I’m shopping and accumulate things all throughout the year.

Buying tip: If you can’t picture where you’re going to put an item or how it fits into your home, I suggest not buying it.

Unless you’re moving and it’s a super awesome piece! It is going to end up in storage and you’re going to be left with a clutter mess that you’ll eventually have to go through. Trust me, I’ve had to take car loads of stuff to the thrift store before we moved. It’s paralyzing to have that much stuff.

I think some of the decorations I may end up keeping up, mostly the ones around my desk. I usually end up doing a coastal theme for my summer decorations. But I’m not sure how that’s going to look quite yet since moving into my home.

Buying tip: try to buy more staple pieces vs unique items. What I mean by this is try to buy more things that work for multiple occasions. I try to keep as many items as I can up year round, and then I only have certain areas that I switch out with special items.
