The Lord Gave Us Confirmation That We Were Right Where He Wanted Us
There were many steps that led to me being baptized and finding my church. And you’ll soon see that none of it was by accident. There are so many testimonies that I have with The Lord, and this is just one of them.
We truly have such a personal God that cares about each of us and what is in our hearts. I encourage you to go read the other things that I have posted about what The Lord has done for me by clicking -> God Still Moves tab to read more when you’re done reading this. They are all real things that have happened to me in the last 1.5-2 years. I’d love to write about everything all in one post, but at that point I may as well just write a book because it is too much. So I am slowly sharing my walk with Jesus through these blog posts.
First step: The Lord leading us to our home
There is a lot of backstory regarding how The Lord led us to this point, but finding our dream home was kind of the first step. Without that step, I wouldn’t even be living in the area. Just understand that our home didn’t come by “just because”. It was truly an act of God and a direct result of putting my trust in Him. I’ll speak on that in another blog post.
Seeking community that knows Jesus
Once we got settled in our house, we were really starting to crave to know more about The Lord. It was hard to not want to know more since we had some very large prayers answered in less than 2 ish months! We started to feel like we needed to find more people that knew The Lord and surround ourselves with them. We just wanted to form Godly friendships since The Lord basically took everyone out of our lives.
He might let you experience the wrong thing first
So we were finally ready to find a church. The first Sunday we tried a church out across town and we thought everyone was super nice, but we weren’t feeling like this was “home”. We didn’t know what home really felt like, but we could feel that it just wasn’t the one for us.
And I have to say, if you’re looking for a church, you will feel when it’s the right! I hear too often how some churches aren’t even teaching biblical things, have more so an agenda, or maybe you leave just as hungry as when you showed up. Not good, we need to know the truth, no sugar coating even if that means you ruffle feathers. Some churches are afraid to talk about hard things, that just tells me they fear man more than God.
Honestly if you don’t feel convicted at some point, you’re likely not hearing the gospel! We are human, and inherently evil. Of course our flesh isn’t going to like being told to live for something else and not yourself. That’s a whole other thing that this generation seems to promote: Do what makes you happy. Yeah I’m sorry I have to disagree, do what makes The Lord happy.
I suppose I could sacrifice drinking alcohol, that counts right?
That also brings me to sacrifice. You’re likely not following The Lord if you’re not sacrificing something. And when I say that I don’t mean giving up drinking if you are not a person that struggles with drinking, or giving your money to people when you’d never notice a difference in your bank account no matter how much.
It’s gonna be hard, and that’s the point.
Sacrifice means giving up something valuable to you that you don’t always have a lot of or its hard for you to do. A good example if that I think a lot of people can relate with is time. A lot of people are so busy, and don’t have time for this it that. Well, you put all these things on your schedule correct? Schedule in time with The Lord if that’s what you have to do to be able to see it as a serious commitment and PRIORITY.
Is it not more important to know your creator than it is to scroll your days away on Facebook/social media? You can find time to do that but you can’t sit and talk with The Lord for 10 mins at the least each day. What you give most of your time & energy to is your idol. You’re probably thinking, okay Charlee you’re literally posting this on the internet for people to read on their phones, and are you saying that you’re perfect?? All I’m saying is don’t let that thing become the most important thing and the ruler of your life.
I sin too, we all do, but we can either continue to fall into our sin or try to be better each day. What’s the difference between a sinner and a righteous man? A righteous man gets back up after falling, but the sinner continues to go back to his wicked ways. Proverbs 24:16
So shake the dust off and keep walking!!!
Man I sure get off track talking about The Lord, but He just gives me so much to talk about!! I say this literally!. Truthfully, He is the guy telling me what to type most the time. Ain’t no way I could come up with this much stuff to write all on my own, please understand that. When you accept The Holy Spirit and allow Him to work in you, things happen! You’ll recieve words you’ve never thought of, and veils will be lifted from your eyes.
We were focused on going where The Lord was leading us
So after we decided we were going to start looking for a church that felt right for us, my brother messages my husband and tells him that you should check out this church that I sometimes do some excavating work for! The pastor is super nice and its close to your house. So we actually look up the church and find out they have a YouTube channel and post their services. We thought that was a great way to figure out if it’s a place we could see ourselves.
So we watched a Sunday service they had and we felt the presence of The Holy Spirit THROUGH THE VIDEO! We knew we had to check it out in person tomorrow morning. They had mentioned in the video that they are doing baptisms after the service the Sunday we would be there. We said to each other, if The Lord tells us to get baptized, we will. We weren’t sure if it would even be possible since this would be literally our 1st time there and figured you may have to be a member of the church. But we were gonna try if we were led to! We were already wanting to do that after being born again.
Direct confirmation from The Lord that we were exactly where He wanted us
So we go, and the service was amazing, they were on fire for The Lord, and we just knew this was where The Lord wanted us. We go up to the pastor after the service and ask to be baptized, and he was overjoyed!!! A little bit later we were informed that The Lord told the pastor earlier that week that he would need 2 more baptism certificates. Pastor told The Lord but I only have 12 people signed up, and The Lord told him there will be 14. Boy, at that point when we heard that, we were overflowing with the presence of The Holy Spirit.
The Lord continues to bless us, and I’m not saying that in a bragging way. I want you to be encouraged to walk with The Lord and go where He leads you because amazing things will start to happen in your life.
We started going in September 25’ I believe, and it’s now Jan 26’. In that short time God has really moved, it’s just been a domino effect of things happening. And I will continue to share my testimonies on this blog as He tells me to! I wait for Him to put it on my mind so I know that I have the go ahead to share it with others.
We were welcomed with open arms, and everyone really is as genuine as they made us believe the 1st day we attended. I feel like I need to add that while we love this church and want it to grow, this is by no means a promotion for this church! No man told me to write this. I am sharing this story to further the gospel and to show how amazing He is.
For anyone interested in attending or even watching online, the church is Living Waters Assembly of God in Ladysmith WI and their YouTube channel you can go to by clicking HERE but you have to click the “live” tab on their channel
