S1E3 God Qualifies The Unqualified: Reflecting The Son Podcast Episode

This is a testament to how The Lord doesn’t need perfection. He can transform a sinner into someone that reflects Christ like behaviors. Not just talk, but their actions are PROOF. He’s waiting for the ones that don’t think they are even worthy to come to Him, not only to transform them into the best versions of themselves, but into the ones that will lead more people to His feet to be saved.

Hey guys, it’s Charlee with Reflecting The Son, and boy do I have a word for you today. So, I think I need to start by saying that I got this word last night. So, that’d be Saturday, March 7th. And so, I was, you know, I woke up the next morning to go to church. We were actually going to a different church this morning just because that’s where we were feeling called to go to. And since that’s like basically a part of this, I’m going to tell you about that too quick.
You can easily find a lot more of my story with my first podcast that I made, but just to touch a little bit, my life has truly been transformed by Jesus. Um, like a literal 180. And it is starting to be very noticeable to people. And so, this pastor wanted to highlight how my life has changed. and I, you know, was feeling like we were supposed to go visit that church today and listen to what he had to say. About 10 minutes before we were going to leave our house, my stomach was just like absolutely destroying me trying to stop us from going. Thankfully with my driving, we managed to make it on time haha. But during the service, I actually got like this really bad migraine and started to lose my vision in my right eye. I was just like straight up feeling attacked. I do not get those type of migraines very often and I’ve only had about three or four of them in my entire life. So I thought that that was really odd. And then about 10 minutes later, I started getting really nauseous. And when the service was done, we had to book it out of there and I puked when I got home. So, yeah, it’s been kind of a wild morning.
But I really, really still need to talk about what the Lord put on my heart last night. And this was the title that He wanted me to use. He told me he wants you to know that he qualifies the unqualified. And what I mean by that is, do I feel qualified right now to be even talking on this podcast? No. But somehow here I am because of what He’s done inside of me. So I’m just going to share a little bit about, you know, the unqualified version of me and how he, I guess, qualified me.
So you wouldn’t imagine this person would be qualified. I was stuck in a cycle of smoking pot like 24/7 almost every single day. And it was just such a cycle I couldn’t get away from. And I do talk a lot about that more in my first episode that I put on here. So, go listen to that afterwards if you want to hear more in depth. But, you know, they say that smoking weed is, you know, not as bad as other drugs and whatnot, but it it’s different. But, I think that it’s different in just as bad of a way.
I think the reason that they call it devil’s lettuce, right? And you know, I’ve always kind of shrugged that off, but it’s starting to make a lot of sense why they call it that. You know, lettuce seems like, you know, oh, it’s not that bad. So, it’s like not as bad of a drug seemingly because they associate it with the word lettuce, I think. Okay. Anyways, that’s not the point. Okay.
Yes, it might be different than other drugs and not considered hardcore, but it does open up doorways that are equally as dangerous. And for me that was new age spirituality. Basically you’re worshiping yourself. You’re worshiping the sun, stars, moon, tarot cards, astrology, the universe, instead of, you know, admitting that we have a creator, it just kind of all is like there’s not really a clear explanation to how everything came to be.
And along with this movement, if you hear things like love, light, and people talking about the universe, you are going down the wrong path. And while this stuff that I was doing didn’t seem dark, Satan loves to masquerade these things as love and light, which is basically what new age spirituality is all about. But we know that God is love and God is light. And Satan has twisted it around to this new age spirituality because that’s what he loves to do. He loves to mock. He loves to mock God. He wants to be God. And that is why there’s so many things that is false about this religion.
The people that are involved in new age spirituality believe that you know these crystals and inanimate object objects have these powers and they are the ones who control what happens in their lives. That is just like absolutely wild to me after realizing, you know, there are so many different aspects that have to be put together to be able to for things to happen in our lives. And to think that we alone could coordinate so many different things in order for us to get to a certain point in life. And like one of the things that they believe in is that you basically are God.
But we know that that’s not true and that you know when you accept Jesus that the Holy Spirit lives within you and God lives within you but you are not God. And from a very quick glance this religion seems like it’d be you know very welcoming and accepting. Um but it sis not holy at all and it is Satan’s way to mock the Lord and try to get people to follow love and light. But really this is just darkness. And that is why new age spirituality is so dangerous because he masquerades this darkness and makes it appear as light.
And okay, that was my past. And you would not consider somebody like that being qualified, right? like to be talking to you right now and this is a testament to how the smallest of seeds can grow into the biggest of trees. Well, we were out to eat with a couple that we were friends with and the husband was praying over his food and he wasn’t doing it to say, “Oh, look at me like I pray over my food.” Like, no. I caught it out of the corner of my eye and it was just kind of like well he was absolutely just doing it to himself for himself and not looking to get any sort of attention from anybody. I just like thought that was so strange that he cared enough to do something like that before he ate. I know right then and there looking back that that is where my seed was planted and I know exactly who did it. Sometimes we won’t know where the seed was planted, but I can feel it in my heart that that’s what it was.
I guess I just share that part to say that, you know, it’s not us trying to force people to come to Christ that brings them, you know, to Jesus’s feet. Um, it’s the smallest things that, you know, you do what you believe. Your actions speak louder than any words that you can preach. and to be able to align with the things that you preach is what is going to show people that Jesus can really transform somebody’s heart. And from there, I got curious, you know, like it just kept like coming back to me. Like I just kept wondering like why does he care so much to do that for himself and not like get anybody’s attention for it? Because I was used to people that were supposedly Christian like doing things for other people to see. And you know what? That’s not what we’re supposed to be doing. We’re not supposed to be doing things to please other men or, you know, just do things to show that we are Christian in a way that in a heart posture that gives off I’m better than you vibes. No, you’re supposed to just live like a Christian because that’s what you believe that Jesus wants you to live like and you want to do it because that’s what’s in your heart and you actually want to do it for yourself, too.
Listen, there’s not that I can say that is going to convince you. I don’t even like to use the word convince, but to change your heart towards believing in Jesus. Me spewing the gospel isn’t going to force you to believe in him. And not only that, I would never want to force somebody to come to faith. That doesn’t even make sense because Jesus wants you to come to him willingly because he he is not about forcing people to love him.
So I guess my one question for you is if you’re not idolizing Jesus, then what are you idolizing? Are you idolizing yourself? Maybe you’re into new age spirituality and you’re moon, sun, stars.
There’s nothing that I can say to convince you.
You have to want to look into it and find the truth for yourself.
And I’m just here to encourage you to go find the truth, whatever that means.
Because if it’s not truth, then you’re following a lie. And that means no matter what it is that you’re following, like I have found Jesus to be the truth.
I have overwhelming evidence in my own life. And no, it might not be evidence for you. And that’s why you need to form a relationship with him and see for yourself with your own eyes and your own heart.
And that’s one of the super amazing things about following Jesus is that it’s not a religion. It’s a relationship. We have direct access of communication with our creator, THE creator of the universe. We have the creator of the universe. We can talk with Him and He can talk to us. What other religion lets you have a relationship with the god that they’re following? There isn’t one. And the other thing is, you know, you have to be a certain person to follow these other false gods and you have to maybe follow a set of rules to be good enough or do a certain amount of things to be good enough for this god. Um, but the thing about Jesus is he is a servant. In return, we want to serve him back when you get to know him and form a relationship with him. What other god would want to serve his people?
I started with saying you know God qualifies the unqualified and he has done that for me somehow and I am so happy from the people that you know planted the seeds in me to the people that helped it grow. And the Lord for you know watering that and turning it into turning His spirit into such a big tree inside of me. So much to the point where you know I feel like I am led by him directly.
I hope that this word really gets somebody thinking about what truly matters in life and how much you want to actually find out what the truth is.
All right, guys. I know this is more of a serious note, but if you’re interested in listening to what I have to say, I do have more podcasts out there. I only have two other ones, but they’re good ones. So, go take a listen to them. All right. I hope you have a beautiful day and don’t forget to reflect The Son.
